As the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics draw to a close, I discovered some notable videos that came from it.
The first I found amusing was this inappropriate reaction of Aleksandr Zoubkov, the pilot (driver) of the Russian two man bobsled team to a crash of the Canadian 1 bobsled team in their second run of four (the reaction occurs at about 0:47 seconds in the video). (The Russians won the bronze medal.)
For those living in a cave, the bobsled/luge track at the Vancouver Olympics was considered by some to be too dangerous and contributed to the death of a Georgian Luger who crashed in practice shortly before the Winter Olympics began.
(Note: It’s a video shot off someone’s TV screen without sound but better videos have been removed due to copyright claims by the IOC, and the IOC’s aggressiveness to avoid negative press and images from the Winter Olympics.)
Then there was this Australian “Today Show” demonstration of a Wii Fit Winter Olympics Curling Game (apparently because they had nothing else to fill the time other than watching people playing a video game).
